Dr Lynne Jordan, Clinical Director:
She is a registered psychologist with BUPA and Axa PPP, Aviva, Pru Health and Standard Life Ltd health insurance companies.
Lynne has worked as a therapist for over twenty five years in statutory mental health services, voluntary and private sectors both face to face and via the telephone. She has a proactive approach to assist people improving their quality of life and sense of well-being. Some people are looking for very brief input and some longer and either can be accommodated for. Her experience includes working with children in foster care and the families and pioneering and co-ordinating a specialist service for 8 years within NHS adult mental health for survivors of sexual abuse. These days she works across the whole spectrum of trauma from one-off environmental traumas to fall out from complex relational trauma extending over many years. She also works as a consultant advisor to various agencies.
Therefore Lynne is experienced in working with both complex and one-off trauma and has developed practice over many years in this field. She also has advanced training in EMDR which is an additional technique useful in processing and coming to terms with trauma, chronic anxiety and in situations where there has been a traumatic bereavement or other loss.
Lynne has a passion for facilitating improvement in people's well-being and quality of life, and so in clinical practice she has a broad background from working with complex trauma / deeply distressing life events to improving coping strategies to deal with day to day stresses and strains of work and home life and many aspects of life in between.
She is is also a Co-ordinator of training, supervisor or personal therapist for trainees on Independent Route (QCoP) to BPS chartership as a counselling psychologist.
She is also an examiner and moderator and a member of the Board of Assessors. She is a Visiting Lecturer at several Universities from undergraduate and @ doctoral level and an Associate Lecturer with the Open University.
Due to her wide experience and expertise in the area of child abuse and relational trauma and the high profile arena of this work, Lynne is frequently asked for interviews and is quoted within the media.
